Thrifty Thursday – 12 Terrific Thrifty DIY decor projects

Good evening (morning?) all!  I got the urge to round up some terrific thrifty decor ideas today and thought I would be clever and call it Thrifty Thursday.   Of course I started this endeavor around 4 pm and right now its almost midnight and I’m just now getting a chance to sit down and finish it – can you say teething 5-month old?

Anywho, despite the fact that it is no longer Thursday, here are my top picks for Thrifty Thursday – DIY decor ideas you can make on the cheap!!

First up, I love this jute wrapped vase.  Its so simple and the jute really gives it a natural vibe.  I’m gonna do this soon- I have everything on hand so it will actually be free!

I’ve had my eye on this project for while.  I think its so clever and it looks like real galvanized metal, which, of course, I LOVE!

I think this a really cute and functional way to use old pie tins and candlesticks.  Its really charming!

I have actually made this, but I used wired burlap ribbon and didn’t love the results so I recommend the regular burlap ribbon without wire.  For an even cheaper version, why not cut strips of burlap instead?  I think I’ll have to try that!

I just thought this lamp makeover was so clever because there are so many painfully ugly lamps like this in every thrift store in America.  I feel like remodeling some lamps now!

Update the lampshade and wrap a thrift store base with rope.

What an awesome idea.  You can just use those glass cylinders your candles come in from the store (not cute) and wrap them in scrapbook paper.  Metallic like this is beautiful for the holidays but you could do any color or pattern to match your decor.
