Hello friends!  As I mentioned in this post, my son’s 1st birthday party was totally DIY, and I am sharing a few of the projects I did to get the look I wanted on a budget!Making your own flocked pine cones and evergreens for Christmas and winter decor is easy and inexpensive!

Making DIY flocked pine cones and greenery couldn’t be any easier;  and it’s very affordable, especially if you have access to pine cones and evergreens (say, in your backyard!).

All you need is some good ‘ol Mod Podge, some Buffalo Snow Flurries, and as many pine cones and evergreen branches as you’d like to flock.

Lay out some mod podge on a paper plate, then fill a bowl or another paper plate with snow flurries.  Making your own flocked pine cones and evergreens for Christmas and winter decor is easy and inexpensive!

Slide the evergreens or roll the pine cones in the mod podge then dip in the snow flurries.  Lay out on newspaper to dry overnight.  That’s it!Making your own flocked pine cones and evergreens for Christmas and winter decor is easy and inexpensive! I used these pine cones, cedar branches and pine branches throughout the birthday party decor to add the winter forest feel.  I surrounded the cake with them, stuck them in vases, tied them up with ribbon and string, and used a flocked cedar branch in my Simple Winter Birch Wreath.
